Overview

In 2005 a major outdoor advertising contract was awarded to Trans Ad for the placement approximately 100 advertising shelters in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since there was no access to power the lights in the shelters, a decision was made to use solar lighting for the advertising shelters. Trans Ad looked to Tolar Manufacturing Company Inc., who provided a turnkey solution with their shelter advertising kiosks that utilized Sol’s Transit Shelter Ad Lighting (TSAL).

Tolar utilizes Sol’s TSAL system because it is quickly installed, provides reliable light and requires no expensive and time consuming site preparation. The shelters provide illumination for the advertisement as well as lighting within the shelter that offers safety and security to waiting passengers.

Sol Transit Shelter Ad Light (TSAL) is unique solar lighting system because it is a low maintenance light that is modular in design, built to endure with superior reliability and with its plug in components, is easy to install or relocate. The TSAL LED lights provide uniform illumination with no hot spots, ensuring advertising is clearly visible. The system is programmable from six hours to dusk to dawn and feature ultra bright white LEDs that last over 15 years.
